Noch 10 Tage bis zur Ausstellungseröffnung

Ich habe jetzt nur noch gemalt. Aber es hat sich gelohnt. Ich bin so weit. Morgen werden die letzten Bilder gerahmt und dann bringe ich sie in die Galerie.
Der Second Hand Laden läuft auch gut. Erika arbeitet jetzt dort am Sonntagnachmittag. Und sie bringt langsam unsere gesammelten Sachen dorthin. Sie will abbauen. Aber wir wollen doch gar noch nicht ins Altersheim. Sie hat auch Nussgipfel vorbereitet für das kleine Bistro das nebenher läuft. So haben wir nächste Woche eine eher ruhige Zeit. Habe einige Fotos gemacht. Sonnenaufgang auf der schynigen Platte und Sonnenuntergang im Simmental.

I've only been painting, but it has been worth it, as I've gotten far. Tomorrow I'll frame the last of the pictures and bring them to the gallery. The second-hand shop is also good. Erika is now working there on Sunday afternoons. It is bringing down the amount of stuff we've accumulated, slowly. Erika wants to dismantle but we are not yet going into the retirement home! There is a small bistro in the second-hand shop that Erika makes Nussgipfel for...it is a pastry filled with walnut cream. Next week we have a rather quiet period. Schon wieder mitte Februar

Es ist viel gelaufen seit der Second Hand Eröffnung. Darüber aber später. Ich male fleissig für meine Ausstellung in Unterseen. Derzeit bin ich an der überarbeitung vom Narrenschiff. Bis jetzt sieht es so aus. Auch Jo und das Nashorn sind überarbeitet worden.

9 Februar 2008 Eröffnung des Second Hand Shop im Parkhotel Goldswil.

Am Samstag ist es soweit. Erikas neuer Arbeitsplatz wird eröffnet. Punktgenau um 10.00 kann man kaufen was das Herz begehrt. Alle Zimmer im Parkhotel sind gefüllt mit gebrauchten Sachen für den täglichen Gebrauch. Es hat Kleider, Schuhe, Möbel, Teppiche, Werkzeug, Militärsachen, Kostüme, Hüte für Herren Damen und Fasnacht und überall hängen Bilder, Stiche, Oel und Acryl, Originaldrucke und Reproduktionen. Es müssen über 20.000 Artikel sein die einen Käufer und Liebhaber suchen. Ich bin gespannt wie das ganze am Sonntagabend aussieht.

On Saturday Erika's new job begins. All rooms at the Park Hotel are filled with second-hand things for daily use. Just point and 10.00 can buy whatever your heart desires. For sale are clothes, shoes, furniture, rugs, tools, military items, costumes, hats for men and women, Carnival masks, images, engravings, oils and acrylics, original prints and reproductions. There must be over 20,000 items to buy or collect. I'm curious to how it all will look Sunday evening!

Onkel Ottis Geburtstag

Heute ist Onkel Ottis Geburtstag. Er ist ein Onkel von Erikas Seite. Er wird dieses Jahr 80 Jahre alt. Er ist pensioniert und pflegt seine gehbehinderte Frau. Wir sind eingeladen nch Guggisberg bei Schwarzenburg. Schon die Fahrt dorthin war wunderschön. Viele Bäume noch voll Rauhreif und über der Landschaft eine schöne Schneedecke. Im Restaurant waren die Töchter und Sohn, dann viele schon erwachsene Kinder von den Kindern und die nächste Generation war auch schon gut vertreten. Wir zählten schon zu den Veteranen. Zur Unterhaltung spielte jemand Hanharmonika. Es gab auch etwas sehr gutes zu essen und so ist der Nachmittag wie im Fluge vergangen. Es hat Spass gemacht mit vielen zu plaudern. Jetzt ist der Tag schon wieder vorbei. Nochmals herzlichen Dank für die Einladung.

Today is Erika's Uncle Ottis's 80th birthday. He is retired and cares for his disabled wife. We were invited to Guggisberg at Schwarzenburg. The ride there was beautiful; there was a beautiful snow cover and many trees were still fully covered in hoarfrost. In the restaurant were Uncle Ottis's children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren. There was very good food and entertainment from someone playing the hand harmonica. It was fun to chat with everyone. The afternoon just flew past, and the day is already over. Once again, many thanks for the invitation.
